Pope John Paul II Beatification And Memories

     Pope John Paull II broke a lot of records, he reigned 26 years as Pope making him the 2nd longest service as pope, he was been recognized as one of the most influential leaders in the 20th century. He was one of the most travelled world leaders and most traveled pope in history visiting 129 countries around the world, he has the highest number of saints and blesseds proclaimed more than the combined tally of his predecessors, 1340 blesseds and 483 saints. Now he is called Blessed John Paul II.

     Inspired by calls of "Santo Subito!" ("Saint Immediately!") from crowds gathered during the funeral Pope Benedict XVI began the beatification bypassing the normal restriction that five years must pass after a person's death before the beatification process can begin. For him to become saint 2 miracles must happen with his influence, Pope John Paul II was the one responsible for lowering the requirements of being a saint reformatting 4 to 2 miracles only before a person is declared as saint. In early 2006 Sister Marie Simon-Pierre suffered Parkinson's Disease, a French nun and a member of the Congregation of Little Sisters of Catholic Maternity Wards, confined to her bed was reported to have experienced a complete and lasting cure after members of her community prayed for the intercession of Pope John Paul II. As of May 2008, Sister Marie-Simon-Pierre, then 46, was working again.

     Pope John Paull II 1st visit in the Philippines way back February 17, 1981 for the beatification of the 1st Filipino saint, St. Lorenzo Ruiz. It is the 1st beatification ceremony outside Vatican, aside from Manila the Pope visited Cebu, Davao, Bacolod, Legazpi and Baguio.

     He visited again the Philippines in 1995 for the World Youth Day which he created, It was the first time for an Asian country to host the event, GMA is the official media to cover the celebration. There are 5 million crowd, nobody in the history of mankind has been seen by that many people, Guinness World Records recognized as the largest Papal gathering in Roman Catholic history. A song was made for the World Youth Day and the pope's visit entitled "Tell The World Of His Love" which was origianlly composed by a 25 year old Trina Belamide.

     Blessed John Paul II remembered the Filipinos, there was a time in a gathering a Filipino priest was present, when the priest in Vatican was talking to the public and mentioned the Filipinos John Paul II began humming the theme song of the 1995 World Youth Day in the Philippines. A priest also said meeting Pope John Paul II is like seeing God.
